So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith. If it is serving, let him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach; if it is encouraging, let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing mercy, let him do it cheerfully. Want to get to Connected? Here are your next steps!
Maybe you've been coming to FPC for two weeks. Maybe two years! Whatever the case, you're here because you're ready to ramp up your invovement and you want to know how people at a church as big as our get connected. At Faith Promise Church, we believe that every member is a minister. Therefore, we want to equip you to be the best minister you can be. This is why we provide many opportunities for people to get involved so you can put into practice the things you learn!
There are several things you can do to get connected! You could start by attending one of our core classes. Faith Promise Core classes are designed to give our guest and regular attendees an overview of Faith Promise, our values, mission, beliefs and vision for the future. If your not ready for classes, then perhaps join a small group and meet other people who are on the same life path as you, or you could begin serving in one of our many entry level ministries!
Step One...
Your first step would be to attend Discovering Faith Promise. This class offers an introduction to our church family. You'll meet some of the staff and other members. Pastor Chris will give an overview of our vision and values, explore the structure of our church. You will discover the true meaning of membership and what it means to become a part of Faith Promise Church. There is no pressure to join FPC.
Step Two...
If you choose, you can continue with Grouplink, which will uncover the benefits of biblical community and help you find a small group where you can experience real community. Its easy to get lost in a church as big as ours, so small groups are a place to encourage and challenge each other.
Step Three...
If you really want to get plugged in, take Discovering My Shape and Discovering My Mission. These classes help you unravel all the possibilities you have for ministry at FPC. You will discover what your spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality and experiences mean to the way you serve. These classes will also help you to understand the qualifications of being a productive member of Faith Promise Church.
